ABPA and Allergic Fungal Sinusitis are sufficiently common to result in diagnostic and therapeutic problems for patients and physicians but sufficiently uncommon so that many physicians do not have a large number of patients. Symptoms may be minimal while lung destruction occurs. If a diagnosis is made and patients are seen periodically, progressive lung destruction can be avoided. In most cases the diagnosis is easy to exclude. Symptoms may mimic asthma. The diagnosis is established by appropriate serologic analysis. Treatment and management are described in detail. Allergic fungal diseases such as fungal sinusitis and complications of cystic fibrosis are also covered in this text.
